My interest of hair and makeup began as a young teen not realizing this would be my career. To begin my story, I grew up with three older brothers, a father that was a mechanic therefore I was a tom-boy! As a teen I have always played with friend’s hair and experimenting makeup looks for our proms and special occasions. Honestly, it may not have looked the best however that was always my interest. My friends and I always went to the makeup counters at the mall and I would admire the artists and their work. I would always think to myself, could this be me one day or am I not good enough? Later in my adult life, I stared a career of ten years in the automotive industry. In 2004, I was asked to be my cousin’s Maid of Honor not knowing the rules of this position. She assured me that everything would be handled with hair and makeup as a package deal was set up. Unfortunately a hiccup happened where I was placed in a position where I had to perform hair and makeup on all the ladies including myself. Being under this much pressure, I was nervous and didn’t think it would turn out good. I had no direction of what to do however the natural reaction was to do the job. The outcome was amazing and a success! I guess this was a blessing in disguise and a window of opportunity for me! Shortly after I decided to enroll into beauty school to pursue my passion and dreams, and boy was that fun! After my education in Cosmetology I landed my first gig for a Photo Shoot that entitled a few wardrobe changes along with the makeup changes. The fast paced environment was my jam! I then was offered a Wedding gig and FELL-IN-LOVE! I continued my professional career in Weddings specializing with Bridal Hair Styling and Makeup. In between, I often take courses and attend convention shows to keep up with the latest trends. 7 Years later I was offered a position as the Northern California Educator Specialist for the company Givenchy for LVMH Fragrance Brands that is Sephora Exclusive. Presently, I decided to return to beauty school and further expand my knowledge in the beauty industry, Esthetician in the works. Every day is a blessing and I am thankful for every opportunity and always looking for more as my journey continunes………
